Inside a blast furnace of a steel mill: a unique intervention in the world

A.T. TOPTAGLIO performed a really unique intervention in the world for the Lucchini steel mill in Piombino.

The challenge: remove scrap material on the base of the blast furnace, without turning it off completely and in very restricted spaces.  The solution: a special robot, specifically created for this intervention, capable of “floating” above the white-hot material inside the blast furnace.
